Editorial Policy & Methodology
ReviewsAnalysis exists to help shoppers make better purchase decisions. This page explains how we research, write, and update our reviews, and what readers can expect from us. It applies to every review, buying guide, and product list published on this site.
1. Independence
We are editorially independent. No brand, retailer, or affiliate partner can pay to receive a positive review, alter our ratings, or override our recommendations. Some brands provide free product samples for hands-on testing; samples never come with editorial conditions attached, and receipt of a sample is disclosed at the top of the relevant review.
2. Research methodology
Every review combines three sources:
- Hands-on testing — wherever budget and access allow, our editorial team tests products directly. Reviews based on hands-on testing are flagged Tested at the top.
- Verified specifications — claims about price, shipping, ingredients, materials, and features are cross-checked against the retailer’s or manufacturer’s published documentation at the time of writing.
- Review aggregation — for popular products, we also reference user ratings on Trustpilot, Google Reviews, and retailer-native review systems (typically aggregating 1,000+ data points per featured brand) to surface common pros and cons that align or diverge from our own findings.
3. Sourcing and citations
Statistical claims, expert opinions, and third-party data are attributed inline with links to the original source. Where a source is behind a paywall or otherwise restricted, we describe it and link to the publicly accessible reference page. Direct quotations are attributed to a named individual or organisation.
4. Updates and corrections
Reviews are reviewed for accuracy at least once every six months. The Last updated date at the top of each review reflects the most recent substantive update — not a cosmetic touch-up. Corrections requested by brands, retailers, or readers are evaluated within five business days; if a correction is made, the original wording is logged in the page footer so readers can see what changed.
5. How we make money
ReviewsAnalysis earns through affiliate commissions. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commission rates do not influence which products we recommend or how they are rated. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full breakdown.
6. Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or financial relationship with a brand featured in a review — previous employment, equity stake, family connection — this is disclosed inline at the top of the review. Where a conflict cannot be resolved, the review is reassigned.
7. Standards we follow
Our work follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR § 255), the UK Advertising Standards Authority’s CAP Code, and broadly the principles in the IFCN Code of Principles for accuracy, transparency, and corrections.
8. Contact
For corrections, factual disputes, or right-of-reply requests: [email protected]. We aim to respond within two business days.
